SPARTACOTE® Flex Quartz Concrete Coatings project at Espacio Minerva in Guadalara Mexico in both interior & exterior parking structure application
Project Name: Espacio Minerva
Location: Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico
Owner: Dalton Corporation
SPARTACOTE Installer: Grupo Delcosa
This project was approximately 6000 m2 of a mixed interior and exterior parking structure in Guadalara Mexico.
The concrete coating system installed is SPARTACOTE® Flex Quartz with a dark grey base coat. The first coat applied was grey with quartz additive, then 2 more coats of grey. The crew also had to paint over the cove base and up approximately 10 cm of the walls, traffic arrows, and handicap spaces. In addition, they had to coat highly corrugated concrete on ramps.
This was a very difficult installation. The concrete was in poor condition and needed much surface preparation (i.e. not level and many cracks). The contractor was only allowed to work during the day, and the polyaspartic coatings were difficult to install in the hot sun. Additionally, there were days of rain—including Hurricane Patricia. For such a difficult job, the first-time SPARTACOTE® installers Grupo Delcosa performed impressively.
Dalton Corporation, the floor owner, is a very large company with a wide range of business, including car dealerships, construction, and real estate. This parking area is part of a garage deck adjacent to a mixed-use apartment complex / office complex in which the company has its headquarters as well as high end residential real estate.
Congratulations to Grupo Delcosa on a job well done.
