Company Background

As a family owned business, The Garage Store manufactures, sells, services and installs an exclusive line of wood/metal garage cabinets. The Garage Store also offers a line of very high quality metal garage cabinets, a complete line of garage interior organization products and garage flooring products featuring the HP SpartacoteTM floor coating systems. The Garage Store markets its products through a design process and a retail process through third party reference sales (builder, renovator) and we also distribute our branded products and HP Spartacote products to authorized dealers within its territory.

“After about 5 months of preparation work studying market trends, analyzing competition and researching suppliers, The Garage Store commenced business in February 2006 Our original business model was a build to order business aimed specifically at direct sales to homeowners. In November 2006 we changed our business model to an inventory based model and opened a retail store with a focus on floor application.” says Don Featherstonhaugh, Co-Owner of The Garage Store.

According to Featherstonhaugh: “From a business perspective this retail model allowed us to satisfy our customer’s needs quickly and achieve higher margins. It allowed the potential of reselling our branded products and opening up significant new revenue sources by distributing product to dealers, home builders and renovators.”
